Ballerinas with a military print, that print that has remained in our closets for years.
There are fashions that come and go and others that resist and become timeless. This is the case of military fashion, a common trend season after season that makes these garments a perfect ally for everyday battle.
Like our classic Marilyn ballet flats, made of canvas with a green or pink camouflage print and a gold leather toe. With an elastic strip with studs on the instep, to give them a more warrior look.
Once again, at Bobo's we are inspired by a charismatic character: Marilyn Monroe. And more specifically in her visit in 1954 to the American troops in Korea, dressed as a soldier, thus turning a war uniform into a garment desired by many women. Dressing as a military man became something feminine and sexy.
Since then, the military print has inspired thousands of fashion collections like ours.
Origin of the military print
The military print emerged, obviously, in the war conflicts of the 20th century. It was the French who created a “camouflage army.” They painted planes, ships and weapons in earth/green/beige colors with the aim of deceiving the Germans in the First World War. The British and Americans followed this example during World War II and incorporated it into military uniforms.
At the end of the great wars, women incorporated their husbands' garments into their wardrobes, making the military style fashionable.
This is how a print emerged that today is a fashion classic!
Designers like Jean Paul Gaultier and artists like Andy Warhol They made this style a classic in its day. And victoria beckham or the singer Pink They renovated it this summer!
At Bobo's we have joined this timeless trend by creating military ballet flats that will undoubtedly be a staple in your wardrobe that will give that 'warrior' touch to your day or night looks. Yes, because as the 80s Spanish group Coz would say, “girls are warriors.”
