SANTA FE.- Somewhere out West.
There's something about it that recalls those photographs of the American West where everything seems to have more texture: the antique blankets, the dark wood, the adobe interiors, the earth tones, and that immense sky that makes the other colors appear different. Chocolate, ecru, and dusty rose create large geometric patterns on the knit fabric, while the fringe runs along the jacket almost as if it were added by hand. It has echoes of the Southwest, of fabrics found in New Mexico markets, and of those handcrafted pieces that eventually entered fashion without completely losing their history. But we like it much more than any literal interpretation. With denim and a white shirt. With tailored trousers. Over a light dress. Even with something as classic as loafers. The simpler the accompanying elements, the more interesting it becomes.
It doesn't look like a jacket chosen to complete a look.
It looks like the jacket around which you build the look.
